Services

Six things we do. Four things we refuse to.

QIMA and SGS sell breadth: labs, certification, cybersecurity, life sciences. We sell depth on one question — can I trust this supplier with my money. Here is exactly where our scope ends.

Desk check

$390 48 hours

Before you spend a day on a site visit, confirm the company is a real entity at the address it claims.

  • ✓Business licence, registered address against the actual operating site
  • ✓Litigation, defaulter list, tax arrears, abnormal-operation flags
  • ✓The controlling shareholder's other companies, including dissolved ones
  • ✓30-minute live video walk-through with the camera operator walking where we ask

Factory audit

$980 5–7 days

One to one and a half days on the floor. The core product: is this factory what it says it is, and will it still be here next year.

  • ✓Machine count against the quote, with capacity recalculated from utility bills
  • ✓Payroll, social insurance and headcount cross-checked against each other
  • ✓Interviews at owner, manager and operator level, conducted separately
  • ✓Subcontracting traced — where the outsourced processes actually happen
  • ✓Owner background, related entities, financial health signals

During-production check

$420 per man-day

At 30% completion. The cheapest moment to catch a systematic defect, and the check most buyers skip.

  • ✓Sample pulled from the line, not from the finished pallet
  • ✓Process parameters against the approved sample and spec sheet
  • ✓Early defect patterns that will repeat across the whole run

Pre-shipment inspection

$390 per man-day

At 80–100% production. AQL sampling, packaging, labelling, quantities. The last moment before your money leaves.

  • ✓AQL 2.5 sampling per ISO 2859-1, or your own plan
  • ✓Packaging, carton marks, barcodes, label artwork against the approved version
  • ✓Quantity verification before the balance payment

Container loading check

$260 per container

Watching the goods go into the container, so what you inspected is what actually ships.

  • ✓Carton count against the packing list
  • ✓Seal number photographed and recorded
  • ✓Mixed loads and substitute cartons flagged on the spot

Annual monitoring

$4,800 12 months

For suppliers you already trust. One full audit, then a quarterly snapshot so surprises arrive before the shipment does.

  • ✓Quarterly risk snapshot on ownership, litigation, tax and payroll
  • ✓Electricity consumption anomaly monitoring — a factory running at half load is a factory losing orders
  • ✓Follow-up audits at 20% off, bookable any time

Out of scope

What we do not do, and why.

Most providers in this industry will say yes to anything and subcontract the hard parts. We would rather lose the order than write a report we cannot defend in front of your auditor.

✕
BSCI / SMETA / WRAP certification audits

These reports can only be issued by amfori- or Sedex-approved firms. We are not one, and we will not pretend to be. If you need a branded compliance report, we tell you to go elsewhere — and we can sit alongside that audit with the commercial questions it does not answer.

✕
Laboratory testing (chemical, physical, electrical)

Requires CNAS / CMA accredited labs. We do not own one and do not broker samples to the cheapest bidder. If a test result matters, use an accredited lab.

✕
ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 certification

Certification bodies need CNCA approval, and a consultant who prepares a factory for certification cannot also audit it. That conflict of interest is the reason so many certificates in this industry mean nothing.

✕
Escorted factory tours for your team

If you want to come yourself, come. Our value is being there when you cannot.

How an engagement runs

From order to verdict.

1

Order, same day

You submit the factory. We confirm the address is reachable and dispatch within one working day.

2

Day 1: on site

One auditor, one full day. Machines counted, meters read, ledgers pulled, three interviews.

3

Day 2–4: drafting

Findings ranked by what they cost you, every claim tied to a photographed document.

4

Day 5: review and delivery

A negative verdict is co-signed by a second auditor who never visited the site.

Which one do you need?

If you are not sure, start with the desk check. It costs $390 and often ends the conversation with the supplier.
